Gifting a Print to a Special Man in the Community of Equestrian The Southern Highlands https://ianvaughanphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2018/8/gifting-a-print-to-a-special-man-in-the-community-of-equestrian-the-southern-highlands Hi, Friends, Fans, Supporters & Followers ...

Every now and then I like to give a Gift of a Custom Print that I have captured of a special moment ... The print I chose I captured during the 2017 Australia Day Celebrations Street Parade held in Berrima each year in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, I captured through the lens of my camera the Southern Highlands re-enactment Lighthorse Riders a group of local men and women who have a love for horses and who cherrish keeping the memory of so many brave man of the Australian Light Horse of WWI alive.

I took the Troops image as they rode down through the parade in full Lighthorse kit with riffles etc with an Australian Flag flying proudly, Later in my photography office I tweaked the image a little with my photography software to how I wanted it to appear as I chose for it to look of the period of time I made it a black and white image.

Since I relocated myself to the Southern Highlands in 2014 settling in Moss Vale I found with my photography I soon fell in Love photographing anything and everything in Equestrian, over the years I cover many Events in the Community and with several of the Highlands Show Society's during where I often came across a local Horseman who I got to know as Mr. Neil Hughes with a Love and Passion for horse he has many himself.

Mr. Hughes is frequently giving his time and volunteers to many within the Southern Highlands Equestrian World and as I learn't at the recent 2018 RDA Event (Ride for the Disabled) in which I covered as the photographer, He also gives his time to those of special need in our Community, So I decided to Gift him a Custom Print which I printed at A2 size, and had it Professionally mounted and Cornered by the fabulous staff at the Mittagong Frame Today store where I am a client they specially wrapped the finish product for me.

Once I made contact with Mr. Hughes he invited me out to The Fitzroy Falls Equestrian Riding Centre where the RDA Group are based, Mr. Hughes and many other foke involved in the Equestrian world that I see regularly where their today Wednesday the 15th August 2018 taking several classes of kids with special needs and teaching them hard to ride horses, Also present where students from a local Christian School helping out with their time to those less fortunate than themselves which is a credit to their character as they are the future which is in safe hands.

I presented Mr. Neil Hughes with the Custom Print who was delighted to accept it from me in goodwill.

Until our paths meet remember my Motto: KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography, Moss Vale. New South Wales.

The Albert Small Dressage & Showjumping Day by The Oaks Horse & Pony Club https://ianvaughanphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2018/8/the-albert-small-dressage-showjumping-day-by-the-oaks-horse-pony-club Hi, Friends, Fans, Supporters & Followers ...

A Fabulous Day had by all of the Zone 10 Pony Club members who attended the Albert Small Dressage and Showjumping Day run by The Oaks Horse and Pony Club which was held at their Club grounds at Dudley Chesham Oval. The day started off cool then a icy cold breeze came from the snow caps up north during the Dressage part of the competition day which was spread across five arenas with riders showing off their skills and hard work of many mouths of training.

The second part of the days events was the Showjumping out of two arenas in the back oval surrounded by trees full of wild birds singing there songs. The gusty winds all day kept everyone well rugged up with the sun rays warming us from time to time. Family and friends cheered all competitors as they competed in the two elements throughout the day, not everything went to plan but over all an enjoyable day with furry friends of all shapes and sizes had by us all, so until we meet again remember my Motto: KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

Equestriad Camden CNC ODE 4th & 5th August 2018 https://ianvaughanphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2018/8/equestriad-camden-cnc-ode-4th-5th-august-2018 Hi, Friends, Fans, Supporters & Followers ...

Wow what a fabulous weekend at the Equestriad CNC ODE held at the Bicentennial Equestrian Park, Camden NSW, two full days of Dressage, Showjumping and Cross Country eventing at it's best. A great spectacular Event that we all look forward to on our events calendar ... I got to witness some skillful riders and their furry friends going through all the eventing elements of the sport of equestrian that we all love up closer than most through the lens of my camera and capture that time in history that rider and horse achieve that special moment they have been striving to achieve from all their training and skill put together, and the family and friends who came to cheer them along as they competed was great as I herd lots of cheer and support during the XC as riders jumped obstacles racing to the next against the clock to victory.

The image I chose to feature from Event was from Saturdays XC of these two Masters in the sport who jumped in the EvA 60 at Jump No. 13 with "Thumbs Up"and they both just KEEP SMILING 4 ME all they way down the slope, an Action shots that Photographers Love to capture. I have been covering all the Equestriad Events since 2015 and this year was exceptionally special coming away feeling thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, so until we meet again remember to KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

WOW what a great night it turned out to be for the August Jump Night Competition, the evening started a little cool as the sun set but it wasn't long before we peeled off our woolly jumps as the temperature settle at 20 degrees for the night. It was great to see a large number of friends and families roll up to support all the members competing throughout the evening, I witnessed plenty of good camaraderie amongst all the young riders as they encouraged and cheered for one another as they jumped the rails of their class which is always great to see.

The photo I chose to represent the night was of this Beautiful pair as they where enjoying the night, I captured them both smiling as they jumped the rails of the 60cm Class. So until we meet again remember my Motto: KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography

What a wonderful day it turned out on Sunday the 29th July 2018 for the Camden Dressage Club Eventing Equestriad Australia's Competition Day Event, the weather was spectacular almost to the end of the day except a bit of a gusty wind towards the last hour of competition which up set some of our furry friends. A great day of testing skills from all that hard work of practice which was magnificently enjoyed by all the spectators and a delight to capture it all through the lens of my camera.

The image from the day I chose to compliment my Blog is of Candace Brigden - Rider No. 9278 competing in Arena 4 of the Preparatory A Class with her furry friend Artic Inkan who was Radiantly glowing in the sunshine whilst the pair showed off their Dressage skills together. Until next time remember my Motto: KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

Photographers Levy at The Sydney International Equestrian Centre by Management https://ianvaughanphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2018/7/photographers-levy-at-the-sydney-international-equestrian-centre-by-management Hi, Friends, Fans, Supporters & Followers ...

For those of my Friends that may not be aware of the NEW changes to Photographers attending Events at SIEC (Sydney International Equestrian Centre) ... Well the NSW Government being the owner and Property management at SIEC have several months ago introduced a Photographers Levy to all Commercial Photographers attending Events at SIEC, They now consider us to be a Trade Stand weather your accessing Power or having a Mobile Shop your Paying a Retail Lease.

SIEC Management charge the Event Organisor a $19.00 per Day Levy to have Photographers at there Events, Then the Event Organisor can either charge the Photographer the base Rate of $19.00 per day or at Any Price they deem to be fit as some Events are raising the Daily Levy so they make a Profit (Get a Slice of the Pie) themselves off the Photographers back.

You may not think it is much but it hurts small businesses like myself as I pay a non-refundable fee upfront prior to the Event as being an Official Photographer at that Event ... Most of us do NOT get paid to be at the Event, Work long hours to cover the Event from dawn to dusk and are only rewarded when competitors like our images and make a purchase - it hurts when the Event Organisors won't share your marketing Blog with Photo to Promote your work after the Event which contains a Link for you the competitors to view and purchase images by your Photographer of choice ... Often being the case my Blogs will end up in the Visitors Posts of the Events Social Media Page even though I send a message asking it to be shared for all to see your just ignored or in some cases Deleted all together, which is pretty heart breaking after being Granted Permission to be their as an Official Photographer and you have Paid your Trade Photographers Levy up front.

So if you notice not many Photographers attending Events like previous years this is why as at the End of the day you have to weigh up attending Events with No access to marketing your hard work after the Event ...

I myself have had mixed results where some Events I have attended the Organisor loves my efforts and work and never any issue to share my Blog with Imagery and Links to my Website Albums & others Just ignore your message, don't reply and in some cases Delete you all together which is heart breaking as I LOVE covering Events and being apart of it all as many of you know me from Events I am very Social and interact with everyone including your Furry friends who I love to spoil with a treat or two as well.

I Felt I needed to Let all my Fans & Followers know What's What and Going On's Behind the Scenes of Events at SIEC, as I have NOT seen any Notice or other Photographers Sharing this with you all out there, I will continue to attend Events at SIEC when I can afford too, Thank you for listening & reading this post.

I often help Organisors, Committee's, Groups, Clubs & Society's when they request Photo's to help Promote their Events/Clubs on Social Media, Websites and Magazine Publication FREE of Charge so a little sharing of my Event Blog on Social media is no big ask ...

My Passion is Photography so KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography

The Southern Highlands OTT Jump Club Day 21st July 2018 https://ianvaughanphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2018/7/the-southern-highlands-ott-jump-club-day-21st-july-2018 Hi, Friends, Fans, Followers & Supporters ...

Another beautiful day in the Southern Highlands and what would you rather be doing on a Saturday, but enjoying a day out with your furry friends & Family showjumping the rails with the sky's the limit ... The Sun was out but its radiant heat was still in bed as the icy Highlands breeze was blowing straight off the top of The Snowy Mountains down yonder. A big roll up as word has gotten around of the fabulous Jump Club days that Christan Trainor & Co. run at the Berrima District Pony Club grounds once a month, we started off with the 45cm for our furry friends who are beginning their showjumping careers to the highest levels in the sport like those few that where jumping beyond the 1.10m heights who make it look so easy their horses either have wings or a big spring in their legs to achieve those great heights ... Just like the image I have chosen to represent the July Jump Club day which I have named "Two Beauties in Flight" I had myself on a good angle to capture their magical bond they have together, with hooves together & tucked up, body stretched to it's fullness and ears pricked forward as they enjoyed their flight way above the poles, just lovely to watch ... So instead of lying in your bed, come join in and have a great day out with your furry friends who may just get a treat for looking so handsome and you will all just KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

The 5th and Final day at the 2018 Equestrian New South Wales Interschools State Championships held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre saw another spectacular day of youth preforming and testing their limits in this great sport we all love. I started the day with some Show Horse in Arena 4, then moved up to the Working Hunter competition at the Main Arena's A & B until 10am ... I then covered the Vaulting Championships in the Indoor Arena from start to finish. It was great to see the hard work the teams put into preforming ontop of a moving horse as it cantered around in a circle to music as well. Beside taking the usual images I also Videoed each act from 1st through to 34th start to finish which are also available from my website. After five full days dawn to dusk I made sure that I covered as much of everything as I could for you all to find images of yourself here and there, Thank you all for a great week of Equestrian and until we meet again remember my Motto: KEEP SMILING ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

It was good morning everyone on Thursday morning of Day 4 as the sun was rising from the gumtrees behind Hack Arena 1 ... A promising looking sunny day it looked to be early but the clouds soon took command of the sky's above making it overcast all day long causing havic for us Photographers with camera settings as the sun occasionally made an appearance like hid and seek.

Non the less it was a fabulous day at the Interschool Championships where I started off at the Hack arenas, then up to Arena 12 then at the days end to Hack arena 2 for the last of the days classes, where I was in ore of some of these young riders jumping 100cm height jump poles at speed like their first day jumping cross rails ... at the end it was great to see the riders thanking their Furry friends for a great round they preformed jumping.

The Team I chose to feature for my Day 4 Blog is Team No. 340 Rider Jasmine Haynes on Croissant - from Uladulla High School they stood out through the lens of my camera as I Photographed the at full speed around course, So you all remember my Motto; KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography
