Well I went into Sydney on my pilgrimage for ANZAC Day 25th April 2018 and I did my best to capture the Parade through my Lens. I myself started being apart of the parade on ANZAC day when I started in Pipe Bands at 8 years old in 1972 with the Fairfield & Cabramatta Police Boys Club Pipe Band. My father was a veteran of several conflicts and served Australia in all three services RAAF, RAR, & RAN when he retired at the rank of Chief Petty Officer and had been in the Australian Pipe Band seen for many years before WW!!, during his Service he was a member of the Royal Australian Navy Pipe Band and continued many years after in Civilian Life. Dad was one of the 3 Founding members of the New South Wales Pipe Band Association and well know within the Australian & Overseas Pipe Band world, He was a Life Member of the Sydney Thistle Highland Pipe Band & an Honory Life Memeber of the City of Renfew Pipe Band in Scotland from his Navy days being stationed overseas. As I grew up and changed into various Pipe Bands for various reasons I was always involved in ANZAC days like many of my band friends as it was a tradition and culture, at the end of the days march all Pipe Bands would gather for Mass Bands down George Street and into the Cenotaph as the pipes eckoded through the buildings and streets of Martine Place, Sydney ... I had the Honor to Lead The Mass Bands in 1977 a year after I Won two Australian Champion Drum Major Tittles at The Australian Pipe Band Championships in Adelaide South Australia in 1976 when I was 12 years old with the Parramatta Police Boys Club Pipe Band, I took out the Juvenile & Open Tittles at that Event winning a case of Grants Scotch Whisky from the Event Sponsor (Which I still have One bottle) from that Prize Tittle in my Display cabinet in my Home unopened still full, I'll get around to opening it one day for a special occasion. So as the years go buy and I am very busy with my Photography Business now I thought I would go into the City and Capture the Days Events as I see them through my eye's and I also caught up with a few friends of mine & my late fathers, which was great.

My choice image to represent my Pilgrimage of the parade is of the Sydney Thistle Highland Pipe Band as it is the Bands 100th Year Celebrations and both myself and my late father where members with my father being a Life Member, many fond memories of the Thistle with many friends ...

Well the Event was a success with everyone who attended the Competition day ... some of the Newer Club Members had a very successful day and enjoyed competing in their chosen new Dressage Club. The day had a slight chill in the breeze to remind us all which time of the year it is in and around the Goulburn Region even though the sun was shining which also lit up all the natural bling of our furry friends as they competed for success in the competition arena's during the day. The Club's BBQ was Sizzling and set up in the exact spot for the breeze to pick up those delightful smells and directing us all to it's location for lunch. A delightful day of Dressage had by all and I captured everyone's glory as they strived for excellence going through their routine tests.

I was spoiled for choice picking a image to represent my Blog of the Event, which I simply couldn't stop gazing at this pair of Beauties - I have named this image as = "Striving across the Sand to Victory" so KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

Berrima & District Pony Club Derby Day 13th May 2018 http://ianvaughanphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2018/5/berrima-district-pony-club-derby-day-13th-may-2018 Berrima & District Pony Club Derby Day was held on Sunday the 13th of May in the Club Grounds with many other members from Zone 10 Pony Clubs Competing in the Competition. The day started out with a little light rain and a chilly coldness in the air, one could say typical Highland weather for this time of the year, never the less it was a cold day. The Clubs canteen's BBQ was sizzling early and the coffee orders where sky high ... A great roll up of members from all Zone 10 Pony Clubs and a fun program mapped out for the day a head. Late afternoon saw all the mornings Showjumping completed and the start of everyone's favourite part of the competition being the Cross Country Event ... which was over just as the sun was saying good night and a sudden appearrance in the sky's above of a shining brightly multi coloured rainbow shown from afar and over the clubs grounds and into the Gum Tree's of the Cross Country course ... I'd like to think this is a Bright Smiling sign from above of past members showing their joy of a Great Derby Day.

My Chosen Blog image is of two Berrima Pony Club Team Mates who where jumping for joy to celebrate a Victories Derby Day, So until we meet again remember my Motto: KEEP SMILING 4 ME, a big thank you to all for having me at your great Event ... Ian Vaughan Photography.

A Great evening had by all who attended, some back from for the first time from past injuries getting back into the saddle with their furry friend and going through their routines, Everyone looked splendid all dressed up and horses too with their mains platted some showing a little bling and a smile for me to capture through my lens of my camera.

WOW what a Great day it was this year for The Oxley College Inter-Schools Equestrian Day held on Sunday the 6th May 2018 at the Bong Bong Racecourse in Burradoo, New South Wales ... the weather started out a wee bit chilly and frosty early but once the sun made it presents felt it was marvellous. I kicked off my day capturing all the Dressage action across five arena's plus the warm up arena to boot. I witnessed some amazing horses and riders striving for Excellence preforming their routines at times appearing to glide across the sandy arena's.

After the lunch break I moved onto cover the Showjumping classes in both Rings 1 & 2 and saw some amazing horses jumping new heights and soaring through the air. At the end of the Showjumping and after everyone helped out with packing up we all gathered in the Clubhouse with friends and family ready for the announcements on who has re written the history books and recorded history in the making at the 2018 Championships. All the Major Winners received a Embroided Rug each in the colours of the Oxley College, with additional Trophey's for their Victorious hard work too.

Well the 2018 Oxley College Equestrian Day started off bright and early with Dressage at 07:30am it was fresh and brisk and you could tell the weather was going to be a great day. I started their photographing the Dressage from the start right through to lunch at Midday. I must say I as an Equestrian Photographer have shot a lot of Dressage over the years and today I witnessed some high standard routines by many of the young riders from all the schools competing which was a pleasure to capture through the lens of my camera.

At the days end I captured the main prize presentations and a few minor ribbons, which I have sorted and processed first up to be available for you all and the College to have ready for any media releases first thing Monday morning ... I will be working hard over the next couple of days sorting through the 11,500 images which I captured throughout the days Competition Events.

So while you wait remember to KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography, Moss Vale. NSW.

I captured plenty of the action and did my best to spread myself around to the many arenas running throughout the weekend. Their was plenty of action on offer for all the spectators to enjoy watching on at times nail biting excitement and close calls by the referee's who where kept busy. Thanks to the Buarradoo Club members for inviting me back for a second year at times it was a little trying keeping my gear dry but I had a great time never the less and looking forward to next year and beyond so until we meet again remember to KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography, Moss Vale.

Once I crossed the historical bridge over the river and into Nowra I was almost there, a short drive a little further up the road to The Worrigee Equestrian Common which was nestled behind the residential area then wow a beautiful parkland lush green grass, with the clubhouse on the upper side of the park set up with great views for spectators to see all the action in every angle to all the Dressage Arenas.

It was straight into shooting and capturing the days action as I covered 4 Arenas of Competition at the same time all day long with a couple of extra warm up areas as well to keep me busy in between breaks. I had a wonderful time photographing the sport in which I love and all the magnificent horses which looked splendid as the bright south coast sunshine lit up their bodies, the riders on board for there mounts also looked splendid some even sparkled with a little bling here & their just to razzle & dazzle the judges.

Thank you to the Shoalhaven Dressage Club for allowing me to attend your Event I had a great day out and I look forward to attending another time so until then remember my Motto: KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

Wow what a great day it was for all who attended on the 15th April at the Camden, Bicentennial Equestrian Park. it was a little windy but overall it was a great day, My two assistant Photographers Amylie & Hunter thoroughly enjoyed themselves capturing all the action around the Arena's. I unexpectedly came along lated as the Event I was covering had been cancelled to the the weather ... I made my day eventful by roaming the park offering to take some private shoots of riders and there much loved horses, I captured a few cute puppies amongst them too.

The girls have 90% of there images up and some more to come but why not take a look and find your photo's and be shore to have a look in the FREE albums if you where one I shot and remember to KEEP SMILING 4 ME Ian Vaughan Photography.

The image that I have chosen to represent the day is of one of the Clubs younger riders who with her trusty pony conquered her routine sitting proudly in her saddle, Her wee pony with perfect Dressage Legs throughout their routine, a Star of the feature members so watch her grow over the next few years and I as a photographer can say I photographer that girl when she was young, that will be my claim to fame in my old age.
